ENGINEERING SERVICES

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a meticulous and independent Quantity Surveyor to support the cost and contract management aspects of our infrastructure projects. This role is vital in ensuring that all project expenditures are well-tracked, materials and services are delivered on schedule, and cost-related processes are aligned with contractual obligations and technical requirements.

You will be responsible for liaising with contractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure proper cost control, documentation, and financial planning throughout the project lifecycle.

Key duties include:

  • Monitor and manage project expenditures to stay within approved budgets. Regularly update cost trackers and support initiatives to improve cost efficiency.
  • Prepare and process payment claims, including certificates and supporting documentation. Recommend progress payments for subcontractors, consultants, and vendors. Resolve issues related to non-standard payment milestones.
  • Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQ) for procurement, administrative use, and client discussions. Maintain up-to-date records of material deliveries, issued POs, and contract values.
  • Liaise with contractors and vendors on material planning and delivery schedules. Confirm material compliance with technical requirements in coordination with the project team.
  • Attend project progress meetings, report on material and cost status, handle inquiries from site personnel, and coordinate with Finance on payment follow-ups. Prepare weekly reports for internal management and client updates.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in procurement and quantity surveying roles
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities
  • Experience in the railway industry is an added advantage
  • Solid understanding of procurement processes and QS responsibilities
  • Strong negotiation, coordination, and reporting skills
  • Proficiency in preparing BOQs, payment certificates, and progress reports
